YMCA Barnsley

Happy Thursday folks 🙂 Our archive photo's today are from 2008 again. This time a lantern making workshop for the 'Field of Lights' project which if my memory serves me was a BMBC arts development initiative. An old friend of YMCA Barnsley artist James Brunt is on one of the photos, James runs his own arts organisation these days and his particular area of interest is natural and land art. Using the resources mother nature provides us with in a respectful way, he creates wonderful sculptures and installations for us to gaze at and wonder...'how did he do that!?' 🙂 Have a look through his work hereabouts www.jamesbruntartist.co.uk/ ... James' work is beautifully bonkers. Whilst he has been on lockdown he experimented with different mediums to hand. This picture is made up of the contents of his sewing box 🙂

That was an amazing project - the parade at Cannon Hall was so magical.

YMCA Barnsley

Good morning folks 🙂 Here's some more photo's from our archives, 2009 this time. These show young people making preparations for opening our allotment and planting some of our first crops. As we very gently re emerge our allotment is going to be an invaluable resource for working with young people and families. Even for those of us without green fingers, it's a fab place to just sit, and reflect, and watch the bugs coming and going 🙂 ... See MoreSee Less
